Daniel J. Paré is an Associate Professor of Communication and Media Studies with the University of Ottawa’s Department of Communication in Ottawa, Canada, and holds cross-appoints with the university’s Institute for Science, Society and Policy (ISSP), and its School of Information Studies (ÉSIS). Daniel also is a former president of the Canadian Communication Association (CCA) (2016-2018). He currently is the Open Government Partnership’s (OGP) Independent Reporting Mechanism (IRM) researcher for Canada. His research examines governance challenges arising from innovations in information and communication technologies. His current research looks at how open data, open government, and ‘platformisation’ are impacting upon government-citizen-industry interactions.
